Environmental concerns
The key factors around environmental concerns:
  • According to IDC, Gartner, and the National Safety Council, 1 billion computers will become potential e-waste between now and 2010.
  • It is estimated that 117 million assets will be removed by customers in 2008. This is a 10.5% increase over 2007.
  • Environmental and data security laws are growing DoD-compliant, and security mandates.
  • The complexity of environmental compliance is increasing along with the risks.
  • To optimize Total Cost of Ownership (TCO) benefits, constituents require a unified standard disposition strategy.
Environmental policy
Lenovo’s corporate policy on environmental affairs is supported by a global environmental management system (EMS) and by innovative employees who seek internal and external partnerships to promote the use of green information technology while protecting the environment in our operations worldwide. Lenovo’s environmental policy addresses all elements of corporation environmental impact; a comprehensive EMS to drive environmental responsibility and leadership.
