Lenovo extends its line of outstanding hard drive options with the 450GB 15k rpm Serial Attached SCSI (SAS) Hard Drive for selected models of Lenovo ThinkStation systems. ThinkStation 15k rpm SAS Hard Drives combine perpendicular recording, giant magneto-resistive (GMR) heads, partial response/maximum-likelihood read channel electronics, embedded servo technology, and a SAS interface to provide high-performance, high-capacity data storage for engineering workstations. SAS Hard Drives feature S.M.A.R.T., which can warn of predictable impending hard drive failure. S.M.A.R.T. is compatible with ThinkVantage Rescue and Recovery software, available separately, which can perform unattended backup of customer data from the drive before failure. Drives predicting failure within the limited warranty period are eligible for warranty replacement. ThinkStation SAS Hard Drives benefit from outstanding Lenovo drive quality, reliability, compatibility, and testing programs. As one of the premier PC system manufacturers, Lenovo installs millions of hard drives per year. Ongoing quality management in support of these products provide Lenovo options customers with drives continually selected from among the highest-quality hard drives available. Offered with a three-year limited warranty, these drives assume the warranty terms of the Lenovo PC system in which they are installed. This means that when they are installed in selected Lenovo PCs, the drives may be eligible for on-site service for up to three years.
