Great Customer Support from Lenovo
I would like to commend Lenovo for standing behind their battery. I bought a Lenovo 40Y6797 9-cell battery for my ThinkPad T60p directly from Lenovo and it worked great for over a year. I was able to work for 5 full hours!!! Recently, the battery then stopped holding a charge. My problem occurred six (6) weeks AFTER the 1-Year warranty, Lenovo still agreed to replace the battery. This is very VERY unusual service in today's world and I didn't expect such EXCELLLENT customer service. I will now always be buying my batteries directly from Lenovo for all 5 of our computers.
In the past, compatible batteries only lasted about 2 to 2.5 hours max.(one-half the time of the new Lenovo). When we purchased an original Lenovo battery on eBay the Manufacture Date was typically 4 to 6 years ago - and these older original batteries only lasted 2.5 to 3 hours. This implies to me that NEWLY manufactured batteries from Lenovo ARE the Best Buy in the long run - even though more expensive initially.
