Dual-Mode Notebook — Switch Between Laptop and Stand Modes

When you're relying heavily on the keyboard — drafting documents or working on a spreadsheet, for example — keep your Flex 10 in the classic laptop mode for maximum productivity. But when you're focusing on touch applications, web chatting, or enjoying a film or video, flip the screen 300 degrees to enter stand mode. The Flex 10's unique design means it adapts to whatever you choose to do.

    10-Point Multitouch Display

Interact with your Flex 10 by using simple, intuitive gestures directly on the 10.1-inch 10-point multitouch display — optimized for Windows 8.

Less than 1" Thick; Weighs Less Than 3 Pounds

Thin and light laptops usually bear a hefty price tag, but the affordable Flex 10 is only 17.3mm (0.68") thick and weighs in at just 1.2kg (2.6 lbs).

    AccuType Keyboard

The acclaimed AccuType keyboard is ergonomically designed to make typing more comfortable and to reduce errors.

    Stereo Speakers

The Flex 10's speakers deliver rich stereo sound — perfect for listening to music or watching videos.

    Integrated Webcam

The integrated 720P HD webcam is perfect for online video chatting with friends and family.

    Multitouch Touchpad

Optimized for Windows 8, the intuitive, easy-to-use touchpad features simple scroll, zoom, and rotate functions.

    Lenovo Energy Manager

Lenovo Energy Manager protects the long-term durability of the battery and uses advanced energy-saving technology to increase time spent between charges.

    Veriface Pro

You can log in without typing on the Flex 10, thanks to Veriface Pro, face recognition software that uses the integrated webcam to log you in.

It is convenient for air travel because of its size and weight. The ability to fold back the keyboard allows its use as a tablet although it is difficult to understand why they did not design it to fold the keyboard back 360 degrees. The design as a laptop rather than a tablet makes it paerticularly usefuyo for business use.
Windows 8.1 is the most awkward and poorly designed OS I have ever come across. For modern systems I do not understand why the RAM was designed as a maximum of 4GB. I would have happily paid extra for 8GB.

How you can use as a laptop or tablet. Touch screen gives more options.
Getting used to windows 8, not a bad point as it's good when you work out what's what.

It is well made and value for money
We are in our 70's and find we probably made a bad judgement as it is too complex compared to our Windows7 desktop.

Lovely design, very compact, nice grippy texture on the outside and strong hinge mechanism. Takes only a few seconds to turn on and shut down. Nice keyboard.
Some apps take a while to load, it isn't particularly fast. The trackpad is very small and not very good, which isn't too much of a problem because you can just use the touchscreen. The speakers aren't very loud, so you have to sit close if you are watching a film.

I would like to know if it's advisable to buy this laptop, though its just for home use but the negative reports got me scared. I wish to know if you also have issues with its performance

I have had no issues with this little laptop. Excellent for when I am travelling.
      2. Chris replied on
It takes a bit of getting used to after being used to from a larger laptop,,,,the only problems I had was with Mcafee security,,,,so after having some bad issues with Macafee I uninstalled it and replaced it with IObit security,,,free version,,,,and the laptop is running lovely,,,the screen qaulity is exceptionally good ,,,its small,,,fits into the smallest of rucksacks,,,,very pleased with it
    2. Abdul asked on
Every single click using the touch screen opens a new window sometimes showing naked ladies and sometimes it shows gambling sites.

How do I stop new windows from opening and showing those wanted pages.
      1. Rosie replied on
This doesn't happen on my laptop - it sounds like you have a virus!!
    3. siddiqa asked on

      1. Chris replied on

      2. David replied on
It comes with keyboard (they integrated) and the charger. It is ready loaded with Windows 8.1 which personally I find a nightmare as a business user.
    4. zoya asked on
what is the quality like. i mean is it worth the money. i am looking for something in i can store photos and get lots of work done too. i have the imac and macbook air but i just need something cheap that isn't that expensive. because everybody knows how expensive apple products are. i just don't want any viruses on them so i was wondering if i should go for the lenovo touchscreen. give me some advice pls. i need it urgently.
      1. Richard replied on
If you ste used to Apple products you will be very disappointed with this PC. It is slow and freezes a lot. But if it is just for storage, go for it.

    5. Martin asked on
Looks just right for me BUT I use lots of simple Works spreadsheets for financial accounts. XL is unneccmartinessarily complex. Can I run MS Works on Windows 8?
      1. Eileen replied on
I have no idea, sorry, you should be able to get an answer from Lenovo
    6. Stacie asked on
Do you think this is a suitable little laptop for a film student who will be going to uni? I'm not sure what is best as I've never bought a laptop.
      1. Rosie replied on
To be honest I don't think it would be very good for a film student as it isn't very powerful so downloading or editing movies would be very slow. Also the speakers aren't very loud so you can't hear if you are very far away from it (eg the other side of the room). It is okay for general emails, netflix, Internet etc, but nothing more. I have been a bit disappointed with its performance :(
      2. Kenneth replied on
Sorry as a couple in their 70's we find the device very complicated especially with Windows 8....but younger people may find it ideal.

    7. michele asked on
can you add a printer to it
      1. Janet replied on
yes no problem.i have one and it works a treat.i bought the hp printer from curry's.
    8. Rozzi asked on
How many USB ports does it have?
      1. Eileen replied on
The one I own has 2 USB ports
