Dual-Mode Notebook — Switch Between Laptop and Stand Modes

When you're relying heavily on the keyboard — drafting documents or working on a spreadsheet, for example — keep your Flex 2 in the classic laptop mode for maximum productivity. But when you’re focusing on touch applications, web chatting, or enjoying a film or video, flip the screen 300 degrees to enter stand mode. The Flex 2's unique design means it adapts to whatever you choose to Do.

    Colorful Design

Personalize your laptop experience with Flex 2's wide range of color options.

    10-Point Multitouch Display

Interact with your Flex 2 by using simple, intuitive gestures directly on the 15.6" 10-point multitouch display — optimized for Windows 8.1.

    Long Battery Life

With **up to 6 hours' battery life between charges, the Flex 2 is an ideal companion for users on the go. Lenovo Energy Management protects the long-term durability of the battery and uses advanced energy-saving technology to increase time spent between charges.

Thin and Light for Doers on the Go

Thin and light laptops usually bear a hefty price tag, but the affordable Flex 2 is only 25.8mm (1.0") thick and weighs in at just 2.3kg (5.1 lbs)

    AccuType Keyboard

The acclaimed AccuType keyboard is ergonomically designed to make typing more comfortable and to reduce errors. Choose a model with a backlit keyboard for ease of use on low-light conditions.

Stereo Speakers With Dolby® Advanced Audio™

The Flex 2's speakers deliver rich stereo sound, while Dolby Advanced Audio provides an immersive audio experience, enhances audio quality, and reduces distortion.

    Multitouch Touchpad

Optimized for Windows 8.1, the intuitive, easy-to-use touchpad features simple scroll, zoom, and rotate functions.

  • Ask an Owner

Here's a list of the questions other shoppers have asked owners of the Flex 2 15d

Hi I'm a Uni student who's in need of a newer, lighter and more portable laptop, as I'll be cycling to and from Uni everyday. I currently have the Lenovo G580 which has served me well for 2 years and is absolutely great despite the oversensitive touchpad (which despite changing the sensitivity led to me having to buy a separate mouse in order to use my laptop) and the overall heaviness. Anyways I really want a hybrid laptop sort of thing, one that can be a tablet and is good for presentations, but has a strong keyboard that I can use to turn into a laptop. Also, I've got loads of reports and essays so it needs to work well for Microsoft Office. As well as, I do plan on hooking up my laptop to my bedroom television so if there was a HDMI port that would be great too!

      Help anyone?!

      1. Anbarasan replied on
If you are looking for tablet cum laptop , this s not for you.
You can fold it up to 270 degrees.. But not completely into like a notepad. And screen size is 15 inch and little heavy. It's good with its touch , good for presentations and Hdmi connectivity.
I would suggest it for household use and for games and movies.

My lenovo flex 2 15 has gone into sleep.mode and will not wake up only 2 months old
      1. Andrew replied on
I'm sorry, but I'm only a disgruntled customer, I would call Lenovo direct and complain, you'll have a 12 month statutory guarantee!
      2. Barry replied on
Try holding down the on button for a while
    3. Sam asked on
Looking at buying this laptop; as an English Literature student I will be using this for long essays (making a good keyboard important) and I'm hoping this laptop will give me around 5 hours of battery life, I've seen very mixed comments about the battery life and the keyboard?
I will also use it for some gaming, I don't care about settings and qualities, so could someone also please tell me if this laptop is capable of running games smoothly and reliably on the lowest settings?
      Thanks in Advance
      1. Al replied on
The keyboard on mine has areas that are unresponsive when typing normally, so I have to go back all the time to insert the missing characters. I know someone else who has the same problem. The laptop is currently back in Germany for a fix. I think the keyboard has suffered in the quest to make the laptop very slim. I would not recommend this laptop for anyone doing serious typing. I have also found the battery life to be disappointing - I keep it plugged in when in use. The touch screen is great, though.
      2. Leslie replied on
I have to agree with Al's comments. As I am a very poor typist, I am fairly happy to go back and clear up typos but I think a half competent touch typist would have problms. (Note the missing 'e'!). As to the battery life, it lasts very well providing it is not hard worked. I have it plugged in almost permanently using the Lenovo 'daily mode' which balances battery and mains usage.
I agree about the onscreen keyboard. It is a gem.
The computer itelf has proved to be fast and reliable especially so since upgrading to Windows 10.

The (UK) website states that you can choose a model with backlit keyboard but the website does not give me the option to actually see which model has the backlit keyboard.
Also I can not find any replacement keyboards online, otherwise it would've been fine to buy a model without backlit keyboard, and then order a seperate backlit keyboard to replace the original with.

So question: Which model has the backlit keyboard?

Off topic question: is the Flex 3 coming out in UK anytime soon?
      1. John replied on
        Hi Tom

Yes I saw this as well and thought I was getting the backlit keyboard. I did not. I think the backlit only comes with the top range flex.

Please phone Lenovo, I am sure they will help you

As for changing keyboard, wow not something I would ever consider. I have trouble finding the on/off switch let alone fiddling with the machine - good luck though

      2. Seamus replied on
Backlit keyboard only comes with the pro version. It does not have DVD Rom and usually has only i5 or i7.

No mention of webcam, pl give me details webcam. Thanks
      1. Mark replied on
I thought the laptop was terrible (see my review) so returned it in less than a week. I didn't use the webcam and of course I can't try it now.

      1. William replied on
I have just changed from and Acer that has served me well over the years, then I bought the Flex 2-15 it starts up in about 10 seconds ready to login, great laptop office loads fast worth the money.
      2. Tracy replied on
        I love the Flex
Previously had a Samsung that died and didn't realise until changing to the flex how much faster it was
I think Lenovo products are spot on
      3. Tim replied on
as a reluctant user of PC stuff (always been Mac) this is honestly a joy to use.

      1. Martin replied on
Don't get the Flex 2. My older Acer laptop with a 20gb SSD was much faster at start up. Tried to swap out the 1000Gb HDD in this for a 500Gb SSD but no matter what I tried, even buying the Lenovo recovery software from them, it still wouldn't transfer the software to the new drive.
