- The fact that the touch pad acts as a button is innovative and convenient.
The keyboard is fantastic.
The pre-installed software is *not* "bloatware" (I'm told bloatware is mainly pre-installed on (non-business oriented?) laptops to subsidise their cost. The fact that only potentially practical/useful software/utilities are installed on the T440p is a testament to Lenovo's pedigree. Also, as the T440p is a high-end laptop aimed at business use, one would not expect it to be degraded with such nonsense...)
- It can be a bit of an art-form to right click while using the track-point (I prefer this to the touch pad, which is why I opted for this laptop, as most have only a touch pad).
The supplied track-point nipple is quite flat and, for me, a bit awkward to use. However, I had some nipples from an old IBM R52 I used to have which had a shape I much preferred and which fit the T440p, so this was no issue for me. (Varying nipple shapes may or may not still be available from Lenovo; ask them if you prefer something different.)
It's a powerful laptop, so there's an inevitable battery life trade-off. However, personally, I rarely use it without it being plugged in, so I'm not too bothered. The convenience of being able to have all this power wherever I like (and where there's normally a power socket anyway) is more important to me.
There is no Windows media supplied to allow you to re-install a clean OS without bloatware (which I've usually done in the past to rid myself of the aforementioned bloatware).
(However, there is a recovery partition to restore to factory state, and you can create recovery media to do this if you want to recover the extra disk space.
... But since there *is* no bloatware, this is a moot point, really...(!)
Also, if you repartitioned the drive and need to revert to factory state, you are given the option of installing Windows to the system partition you created and preserving your partitioning, or de-partitioning the drive altogether and going back to a single partition; 'nuff said...;o))

Thank you very much for your detailed and informative review, it's greatly appreciated by ourselves and helpful to those customers looking to make a new purchase. I'm pleased to read that you are getting along well with your new laptop, I'm a fan of the TrackPoint also :).
