Sleek, slim design; very light weight; very nice screen resolution. Functionality all round appears to be intact.
Dealing with Lenovo's UK distrubution agent - Digital River. My experience with this Lenovo purchase and with another one about half a year ago: Digital River simply don't have their act together! My conclusion in dealing with DR: if anything in any possible way can be screwed up, Digital River manage to do so! Don't know why Lenovo works with them!

Here's a list of the questions other shoppers have asked owners of the X1 Carbon

    1. Ewan asked on
I purchased an X1 Carbon a couple of weeks ago and I also purchased a WiGig Dock to use with it. The WiGig documentation states if the software cannot be found on the Thinkpad then it does not support the WiGig. Can you please advise where the software can be found on the X1 Carbon as it does not appear to be there.
      1. Damel replied on
I personally haven't used the WiGig dock, but http://lmgtfy.com/?q=wigig+dock+lenovo+software+download
        5th one down
    2. James asked on
I am a photographer and looking for a suitable Lenova laptop that would be dedicated to my line of work.
The X1 Carbon has been suggested. In your opinion, would you say that X1 could cope with the downloading of files at outside events and cope with all aspects of file editing including the dispatching of files to media sources. I am also interested in the image quality on screen of the X1.
I thank you in anticipation of any assistance you can give me in the matter.

      1. Kathryn replied on
        Hi James,

While I haven't used it for photo editing, it definitely has the performance to be able to deal with everything you describe. The image quality of the screen is fantastic - I haven't seen anything better (bearing in mind I got the upgraded screen offered, which I would definitely recommend).

        Hope that helps.

    3. Manoj asked on
Hi am trying to install windows 7 -64 bit OS in this laptop but its nnot allowing to do so , Kindly let me know how i can downgrade the OS
      1. Damel replied on
Make a live USB and install it the old fashion way
    4. mark asked on
I have the latest x1 carbon and all the external monitors ports seem to come out low res.
Current connect to my computer monitor at work (which has been fine with the old laptop) which is displaying at 1680x1050, yet it is pixilated. This is through the docking pad (onelink+), but also occurs when I connect through HDMI to TV, HDMI to monitors, HDMI through VGA adapter to monitors. I cannot find anything that works and works well. Anyone else had this issue, or found a work around?
      1. Dan replied on
i use a an HDMI to VGA adapter. It isa Lenovo one. Model number PN:LT8511. works brilliantly.. i have not used the onelink so i cant comment on that.

        Hope this helps

    5. Niko asked on
Hi, I just want to know about the keyboard layout - English Euro. Is this layout same as US layout with a euro symbol on the number key? Or it's still a Uk type? Thank u very much.
      1. Dan replied on
Hi. The euro is on the number 4 key so to get the € sign you pres Ctrl and Alt and the 4 at the same time
      2. john replied on
Hi, the one I have is a UK layout keyboard

    6. Jon asked on
Hi. Can any owner of the 4th generation Lenovo X1 Carbon please tell me what the height and width of the visible screen area is? I know its 14" diagonal and 1920x1080 or 2560x1440 pixels, depending on configuration, but what real world size does that equate to? Many thanks.
      1. Alan replied on
        Height is 17.5cm
        Width is 31cm
