What You Are Saying

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Excellent Laptop This laptop is so far proving to be a wise purchase. The build quality is great, really unique look, definitely stands out. The audio is out of this world. Really great speakers for a laptop. Love the cool face recognition login function, hands free login! The only possible let down is the battery life. Expect around 4 hours of normal web surfing and about 2 hours of heavy gaming. Speaking of gaming this laptop can handle highly demanding games at ultra settings, impressive power. I really like the sleek design, its very thin for such a powerful laptop, unlike many bulky gaming laptops out there.Have been using it for a week now and so far I cant complain.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Using this computer feels like driving a Ferarri Anyone who's ever driven a Ferrari knows that they're stupid and loud and angry and overpowered, and beautiful. I've recently purchased the Lenovo Y50-70 UHD 16GB RAM, and it's easily the all-around best computer I've ever held in my hands. Want the play The Witcher 3 at maxed graphics 2K, 60 FPS, no problem. Unlike a lot of gaming computers, though, if you want to actually do work on it, it'll run Adobe Photoshop, Premier, Illustrator, and Flash seamlessly... At the same time... One caveat, though, if you buy it, I'd do a clean install of Windows once you take it out of the box because of the default apps, but that's with most computers.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from An excellent choice I received this laptop around 3.5 months ago and absolutely love it. I have the i7 4710, 860m with 4gb vram, and 16gb ddr3. It is extremely powerful and handles most games with ease. It loads video well and the keyboard is awesome. As for the screen, it's not perfect but is just fine for my needs. It has accepted all my drivers and not had any problems with software. However, mine seems to have some serious lag when running on power Pros: Very powerful Nice Keyboard Great design Audio is nice Not very heavy Cons: Touchpad is very slow(don't use it!) Cover gets very dirty. Performance drops significantly when not plugged in

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Best Investment I Could Have Made I've been using this product for about 4 months now. Only complaint I have is all the extra software it came with that I didn't want or need which slowed it down. This is, of course, an easily fixed problem though. I also want to add that this is extremely durable. I had a nightmare moment one morning where I left it on top of my car in nothing but a thin neoprene case before heading to work, and watched it fly off into the street on my way around a corner. Picked it up, the corner is a little dinged up, but otherwise it works exactly the same and the screen is completely in tact. Thanking my lucky stars I spent my money on something accident-prone-idiot proof!

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Worst Purchasing Laptop experience EVER! I received this new Y50 today, the package was opened previously, which was very suspicious. After I took it out, I pressed the power button, it didn't show anything... power off and on a couple times, then I realized that the screen light did not work. The screen did not light up! Frustration aside, I used my cellphone screen light barely followed through all the set-up processes. Finally I log-in to the Desktop, I thought I can just adjust the screen light. However, it didn't work. The screen light was completely not working. I just bought this new one for my video editing projects. Now, everything I wanted to do was OVER. GG. And lastly, I got charged another $75 extra for no reason from Lenovo. This is ridiculous!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Couldn't be better This is such a great laptop in every sense! The whole thing feels premium and you really know where your money is going. The keyboard and trackpad are great for everyday use, the keyboard is amazing for games and I would have a mouse for gaming. This is the best laptop for the money with the specs that you can get! I have the i7 4710 with 16GB or RAM and the 512SSD and it is blazing fast on the boot and when loading anything. If you are looking for a great laptop for gaming and also CAD and other video intensive programs, consider this laptop as it is high quality and runs every program flawlessly. Thank you again Lenovo

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Stay away from it! I just received this laptop and I am very disappointed with this product. Pros: great processor and graphics card. Cons: no DVD player, no memory card reader, no mute button (nor function key shortcut for it), battery is only 4 cells and it is hidden inside the laptop and I do not think it can easily be replaced (nor can you find a battery replacement online, at this moment). Compared to my old Lenovo y480, the sound quality is a little lower. If unhappy with your product withing 30 days you can return it, but you pay a 15% restocking fee. Conclusion: I am a very disappointed.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Solid laptop with good performance So far I've been largely happy with the hardware. The performance is good and the computer generates less heat than I was expecting based on the wattage of the processor compared to that of my old one. I'm not a fan of the mouse buttons being part of the trackpad as opposed to just buttons, and the computer sometimes makes a ticking sound which I understand to come from the drive, which makes little sense given it's an SDD. Otherwise I haven't noticed anything I'd complain about with the hardware. Overall, very good considering the price point considerably below what I was seeing from other brands with comparable power.
