Wait for a sale
Compared to other computers at the same price, this computer has the largest screen size and best specs you can find. You cannot find a better computer unless you spend a lot more money. However, in order to take advantage of its value, you need to wait for a sale. The sales are really good here, and you MUST wait for them.
I have had no troubles with my computer, however, I would recommend getting some type of warranty. Although these are well built, it's better to be safe than sorry.
The features are quite nice, my only complaint is the edge of the keyboard can be uncomfortable. This can easily be fixed if you buy a pad to rest your hands on.

Unbeatable value
Before I purchased this I was comparing all makes of 17" gaming laptops. I narrowed it down to this and another brand that has a neat little otherworldly figure's head on the back panel of the laptop screen, if you game you'll know to which brand I am referring. Problem was is brand x was around $1200-1500 more and did not offer touchscreen! This series is the best value hands down. Go for I7, 16gb, and 4gb vid card.You will not be disappointed! Also, I use for productivity and gaming. Oh, whisper quiet as well which is a problem for some gaming laptops. A bit heavy but that's the size, all 17" weigh about the same or more than this one.

A frustrating laptop
I bought the Y70 Touch and was pleased with it for quite a while.
Quite a while being about a month.
I noticed pretty quickly that the hard drive was consistently topping out at 100% usage in Task Manager. Cut two months after buying it, the hard drive gets the Click of Death.
I sent it in for repairs, which Lenovo courteously gave me free shipping for. But when I got the laptop back (Three weeks later, because apparently at a service depot, they didn't have a proper hard drive) the laptop lasted for one day before the new hard drive died.
I can't speak to this being a regular problem with all the laptops, but I would recommend staying away from the Y70 Touch based on my pretty terrible experience with it.

Build Quality is Poor and Disk is Slow.
Overall I found 3 major issues with the Y70
1. Overall build quality is cheap, especially the touch pad.
2. Screen is super reflective, even though it is sold as "anti-glare" it is the most reflective screen I have ever used, unusable with lights on behind me.
3. Hard drive is slow and performs some sort of cache clean at random times that will freeze games. I was playing WOW at full resolution, high frame-rate, but every 2 or 3 min the entire screen froze for 2-3 seconds while disk activity happened. I found several other complaints online about this happening with the hybrid flash/disk drive on this model.

Y70-70 Review
Unfortunately the unit arrived and the internal mic was not working. Lenovo has fixed all issues. We were looking for a 17 inch laptop but the key board takes a bit getting use to and there is some type of hesitation when going on line with web browsers. I have a Dell 15 inch inspiron running the i7 processors as well and it seems to be faster. My wife prefers the Inspiron so that will be the primary and the Y70 the backup computer. I probably should have purchased a Thinkpad, I believe I spent actually more for the Y70.

Does this laptop support NVMe SSDs ? In othe words does the motherboard have a usable NVMe PCIe3 slot so that one may install an NVMe SSD like the Samsung 950 Pro ?
